Resumo

The geological mapping 1:100,000 scale of the SB.24~Z~A~I sheet identified a ultramaphic to felsic assemblage with typical volcanic to subvolcanic characteristics and chemícal-exogenic sediments, associated to a metasedimentary sequence, metamorphosed into greenschist to low amphibolite facíes. Late-tectonic granitic events occurred together with the lithologies which seems to be a volcano-sedímentary sequence. Recent petrochemical study of the lithologies has indicated possible komatiitic type of the ultramaphic rocks and tholeiítíc type of the metabasalts. Although the chemical analyses and the field observations were a few ones it was possible to stablish to the Orós and Jaguaribe volcano-sedimentary sequence a greenstone belt type of mechanism.
